Catching Fire Stills Released

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 9, 2013, 4:53 PM
Entertainment Weekly has officially revealed the first look at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire! The new issue of EW with Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Sam Claflin as Finnick on the cover will hit stands January 11th.

The issue includes EW's interview with Jennifer Lawrence, Sam Claflin and Director Francis Lawrence:

Then in an exclusive conversation, director Francis Lawrence described his vision for the sequel, his immediate three-day pow-wow with series writer Suzanne Collins to ready a script, and how one of his inherited cast members had a particularly hard time adjusting to the loss of Hunger Games director Gary Ross. (Woody Harrelson, who plays Katniss and Peeta's wry and PTSD-ruined wreck of a mentor Haymitch.)

EW also sat down with Sam Claflin, the green-eyed, dimpled Brit who won the role of District 4′s charming and enigmatic golden boy Finnick Odair, for his first Hunger Games interview. He described filming the infamous sugar cube scene, in which Finnick teases Katniss while wearing nothing beyond some strategically placed netting, as "the scariest moment of my life. I'm on Twitter and so many people have been like 'Don't mess this up, or we will kill you.'"

"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures."

-Thornton Wilder

There are so many reasons to be thankful for in life.

We so often worry about the things that we don't have, that we forget to give thanks for the things that we do have. We are so fortunate to have the privilege to enjoy the simple pleasures of life that many people don't have. This Thanksgiving holiday, remember to be grateful for the people and things in your life, who have tremendously impacted you in any way, shape, or form.
Give thanks to your family and friends for their support and love. Give thanks to the people who have sacrificed everything for you. Give thanks for your blessings, happiness, memories, etc. Pray for those who are less fortunate.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.  It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

-Melody Beattie

For what or whom are you thankful for? How can you express your gratitude to them?

Probably the best song to listen to on Halloween. Enjoy!

Long time no see, huh? You got that right!

I apologize for the sporadic submissions lately. I just can't seem to find the time, but I assure you, I do try my best to get on here as often as possible. I do anticipate the hiatus to continue for some time…but I promise it won't be too long.

I would like to take the time to say that I am so fortunate to have met and known many amazing and talented people/artists on here. I really appreciate everything you all have done for me, whether they be feedback, suggestions, favourites, llamas, watches, or just small talk. I really enjoy connecting to this particular community and I just want to thank you for everything. I really do appreciate the support, and I hope I can give back just as much.

You may (or may not) have noticed my recent 'obsession' with Polls. I decided to take advantage of my Membership and come up with these polls in hopes of getting to know the deviantArt community better (preferences, recommendations, favorites, etc.). If you hadn't yet, please do take the time to answer some of them…I just think they're pretty neat.

In other news, I have been experimenting with digital art. I'm still learning, and there's a lot of room for improvement. It's pretty hard to adjust to, challenging perhaps, but a lot of fun to play around with.

Also, if you happen to know a great book, show, movie, song, etc., please don't hesitate to tell me. I'm up for anything new and fun as I await season 2 of Legend of Korra and finish up 'Looking for Alaska'. I think this would be an appropriate time to try out other things while I'm not preoccupied with anything.

Best wishes and hope to see you all soon!

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."

―Harriet Tubman

I haven't been as active as I wanted to be on here and I, once again, apologize for that. Unfortunately, I plan on going on a short little hiatus before I begin submitting work again. My inspiration has been lacking and I've been feeling a little lethargic lately. However I will still visit to browse around and catch up on things, maybe even post a journal here and there. In the meantime, I will try to work on a few things that I plan to submit later. There are even some photos I plan on posting soon…so until then, see you around!

A BIG thank-you to the Founding Fathers for signing the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson, thank you for drafting out the document. And thank you, Congress, for ratifying the Declaration. My sincere gratitude to History and America!
